Tennessee Jet is a Americana-rock band from Nashville influenced by the hard-core honky-tonk of Dwight Yoakam, the writings of John Steinbeck, and the raw minimalism of The White Stripes.
Sam Williams aspired to playing guitar when he was nine years old and at only age 14 began playing with a local band. Thanks to the encouragement and guitar lessons from Fred Williams, Tag Green and Jeff Clanton, Sam’s musical interests continued to emerge. Playing the guitar and joining the band for Sam was only the beginning as Sam soon realized that it was only natural for the next step to be putting words on paper and creating his own songs and music.
Sam’s music inspiration comes from a wide array of artists, from Waylon Jennings, Randy Rogers, to the Stone Temple Pilots, etc.; so it is not surprising that his own music reflects tones of Southern Rock, Red Dirt Country as well as a little Blues.
