How much does Walkway cost?
Walkway is FREE! Your donations are greatly appreciated. Local non-profits operate the concession stands and Santa Land as a fundraiser. Bring Cash! We don't accept credit cards.
When will Santa be present?
Santa will make an appearance every weekend!
Where is it best to park? -
Parking is available in Lakeside Park and in the public parking places along the street throughout downtown. Please see the attached map for more details. There are few specific handicapped parking spots directly by the entrance in Lakeside Park.
What happens if it rains?
- Due to safety hazards, the Walkway will not be open if the ground is wet. For weather updates, follow @VisitMarbleFalls on Facebook or call 844-MF-LIGHTS. The decision will be made each day at 3pm.
Are there any other rules I need to know?
- Thanks for asking! It’s important that you stay on the lighted path and please, no hanging on the garland. Please remember this is a family event and the use of profanity is frowned upon.
What does the walkway terrain look like?
- The Walkway of Lights is held in Lakeside Park.A new park now provides a sidewalk. There is a hill as you exit with handrails along the side of the walkway.
Can I bring my pet?
Pets on leash are allowed at the Walkway of Lights. There are guide wires and other aspects that might not be safe for your animals please keep them on leash and pick up after them. Service animals are allowed, please bring their vest.
Can I bring my stroller?
- Strollers are welcomed at Walkway. We ask that if you stop to take a photo, you pull the stroller over to the side to allow others to pass.
What can I bring in?
No glass bottles will be permitted. You are welcome to bring in plastic bottles and cameras. Please remember to put your trash in the trash cans provided.
Is the Walkway ADA accessible?
- The Walkway is outside on sidewalk , there is one hill at Exit that we recommend you turn wheel chairs around when going up. The hill has handrails and they are wide enough for folks to help people down if you have someone you would like to help.
Are there restrooms on site? -
There are lighted port-a-potties on site or facilities that are open.
What are the busiest nights?
- Our busiest nights are the week of Thanksgiving and the week before Christmas. It is a great way to start a new family tradition.
What if I am bring a large
Tour Group?
- Large tour groups are welcome. Please see the attached map for the best place to park. You may pull up next to the entrance and unload your bus then go park.
Can we get in early?
Since the Walkway of Lights shows up best when it is dark, beginning at 6p, we do not allow anyone to get in early.
When will Santa Land be open?
Santa Land will be open every day with Santa making an appearance on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. If you visit Monday - Thursday, there will be plenty of photo opportunities. Snap a photo in Santa’s chair or in one of our interactive photo stations. For the weekend Santa Photos, local non-profits will be taking the pictures. They are a Polaroid Pictures that are $5.00. If you choose to use your personal camera, phone, etc. we ask $5.00.The photos are CASH ONLY.
Will there be concessions?
The concession stand is ran by local non-profits. They will have hot chocolate and other beverages, plus some taste holiday treats for sale. The concession stand is CASH ONLY.
What about photos?
- We will have a professional photographer at the Walkway on any of our open nights. You might be in a few of the photos. If you are not comfortable being in the photos, please be aware of the camera. For the Santa Photos, the local non-profits will be taking the pictures. They are Polaroid Pictures and each organization charges $5.00 for the photo. We want to see your photos. Feel free to tag @VisitMarbleFalls or use the hashtag #WalkwayofLightsTX
